This year was a big one for me and my family in the world of A Cappella music. My sister and brother-in-law are both in A Cappella groups for the University of Oregon. Haley, my sister-in-law is the music director for the all womens A Cappella group for the University of Oregon, Divisi. My brother-in-law, Jacob, is the assistant music director for the mens group, On The Rocks. Individually Jacob and Haley are divine. They are ridiculously musical and extremely talented. The groups are phenomenal. This year was both Haley and Jacob's last year in their groups and therefore, last year competing in the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella. We have gone every year to watch them and for the past 2 years have traveled with them since both groups have moved from the Western Regions' quarter finals held at the Hult Center in Eugene, Oregon to the semi finals in either San Francisco or Beverly Hills. Jeremy is a proud big brother this year as he watched Divisi become finalists and On The Rocks were honored with a 5 minute standing ovation for their performances through out the night to entertain and DJ during the competition. We are so proud of our family and can't wait to travel with Haley and the lovely ladies of Divisi to California and watch them kick some ICCA booty!
